Account of Byrd's second Antarctic expedition from 1933-1935. It was during this expedition that Byrd spent five winter months alone isolated at Advance Base, nearly succumbing to carbon monoxide poisoning. The details of this experience were described in Byrd’s book ‘Alone’, whereas the entire expedition is covered here. This Author’s Autograph Edition is specially printed on Strathmore permanent rag paper with a signed and numbered limitation page. A very nice unopened, unread, copy. Scarce.
