This is Anatoli Boukreev’s dramatic personal account of his role on Scott Fischer’s Mountain Madness team and the 1996 Everest disaster. He presents his perspective and sheds new light on the events and his account of the pre-expedition maneuvering for clients, permits, and oxygen makes fascinating reading. He also includes an account of his 1997 Everest ascent as a ‘consultant’ with an Indonesian expedition. Boukreev was killed while attempting Annapurna in December 1997, a month after signing this copy. This is a very nice, double-signed, copy.
