Jerstad’s personal account of the 1963 American Everest expedition. Jerstad summitted with Barry Bishop and then waited for Tom Hornbein and Willi Unsoeld to traverse via the West Ridge. All four bivouaced at 28,200'. Jim Whittaker and Nawang Gombu reached the summit via the South Ridge several weeks earlier. This is a nice companion to Ullman’s official account of the expedition.
