The German account of the dramatic, and tragic, race for the first direct route on the Eiger's North Face in 1966. This race between the German team of eight and an American/Scottish team of three (Harlin, Haston, & Kor) was documented in the book 'Direttissima/Eiger Direct'. This account contains wonderful photos and a unique dust jacket that opens up to a poster twice the size of the book. In French, no English translation.
