Whittaker’ (both on half-title) & ‘Warm Regards to Sabine With the hope that you also have your own “Mt. Everest!” Barry C. Bishop 5/22/64’ (on dedication pg) (See large image to right)
A true first edition of the official story of the 1963 American Everest expedition which made the first traverse. Copies of this important canon in the Himalayan literature signed by both summitters Whittaker and Bishop are quite scarce. The first inscription by Bar may also be by Bishop. It appears this was given to Sabine shortly after publication. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find out who she was.
