Terray (1921-1965) was a superb French mountaineer who made many first ascents. He climbed the Eiger (1947, second ascent; 1957), Annapurna (1950), Fitzroy (1952, first ascent), Makalu (1955, first ascent), Jannu (1962, first ascent), and more. He was killed while guiding a rock climb near Grenoble, France. This is the UK edition of ‘Borders of the Impossible’. First editions of this book are hard to find and those with a simple signature are quite rare.
