This is the first book to focus on the life of Tom Crean and his work during the Heroic Age of Antarctic exploration. He was a member of both of Robert Scott’s expeditions and made his third trip on Ernest Shackleton’s fateful ‘Endurance’ expedition. He spent more time on the ice than either Scott or Shackleton and outlived them both. An important read.
