Brad Washburn is widely regarded as the authority on Mount McKinley – its routes, weather, and history. He has done much to document the mountain in both words and pictures. Here he presents the evidence relating to the claimed first ascent of McKinley by Dr. Frederick Cook as well as background material on Cook’s prior work.
