Text states "Jitchu Drake and the Tibetan Plateau - Victor Saunders climbing on the first ascent of Jitchu Drake in 1988. The Himalayan Range stretches right across Bhutan and further east into Arunachal Pradesh where only a handful of peaks have been climbed. It can be seen how dramatically the Himalaya divide climatic zones - to the north, in their rain shadow, the Tibetan Plateau is practically semi-desert whereas to the south there are valleys of dense rain forest."
Doug Scott is one of Britain's most accomplished mountaineers. He has reached the summit of some 40 peaks, including Everest and Kangchenjunga. His first ascent of Everest’s southwest face in 1975 with Dougal Haston is a great story. Half of Doug climbs were first ascents and all were climbed by new routes or for the first time in Alpine style. We have a number of nice Himalaya posters from Doug’s photo archives and all are hand-signed by Doug.
