A hundred years ago, Canadian Pacific encouraged the development of a Canadian alpine culture by bringing highly trained professional guides from Switzerland to work at the railroad’s hotels in western Canada. For two generations, these guides took hotel guests on hikes and climbs in the Rockies and Selkirks. This is a nice tribute publication to these mountaineers.
