Green was a member of Donald MacMillan’s Crocker Land Expedition (1913-16). He wrote a number of books among which were three biographies of polar explorers (Bob Bartlett, Dick Byrd, and Robert Peary). This book, written for young adults, is inscribed by Richard Byrd to Felix Riesenberg who was the author of ‘Cape Horn’.
