Lundborg, a First Lieutenant in the Swedish Air Force, was well known for daring, long-distance northern flights. When he rescued Umberto Nobile, following the crash of the dirigible “Italia” in May 1928, he was promoted to Captain. Profusely illustrated with many of Lunborg’s own photos.
