Account of the 1992 Everest expedition which saw Chamoux (1961-1995) reach the summit of his 10th 8000m peak. This large expedition, primarily Italian, also placed scientific equipment on the summit to measure Everest’s height via both satellite and triangulation. As a result of this work Everest was deemed to be two meters shorter. Chamoux would go on to summit 13 of the 14 8000ers before his disappearance on Kangchenjunga. Text in English and French.
