The British Antarctic Expedition (1907-09), led by Ernest Shackleton, achieved many firsts - a new furthest south (88º 23’), first to the South Magnetic Pole, and the first ascent of Mount Erebus (12,448’). This postcard depicting Shackleton is the first from a set of 12 which were produced after the expedition. Scarce.
