The first ascent of Dhaulagiri in 1960 by a Swiss expedition and the last Nepalese 8000er to be climbed. Diemberger is one of only two people, the other being Hermann Buhl, to make the first ascent of two 8000m peaks. Schelbert was the first to reach the summit along with Diemberger. Copies of this book signed by Schelbert are rare.
