Noyce played a critical role on the Lhotse Face advancing the route for the British 1953 expedition and enabling success. Hillary and Tenzing were the first to reach the summit. This is one of the best personal accounts of an Everest expedition. Noyce died in a tragic climbing accident in 1962. Noyce’s signature is less common than the other 1953 team members as he died in a climbing accident in 1962.
